Actions and strategies to change our current pathway of increased climate change, were on the agenda at our third lunch seminar within DTU's Centre for Absolute Sustainability.

The two talks started by presenting our current pathway to increased consumption and climate change.

Two different strategies were presented

  1. Circular Economy as key enabler to reduce and #decouple our resource consumption from need fulfillment
  2. Entrepreneurship Technologies with the example of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) for effective and systematic C02-removal

Key takeaways; both strategies hold huge marked value. The strategies are complementary, although one strategy effort can minimize the need for the other strategy. Neither way both require systematic change. Offsetting clearly sparks discussion with opposing views. So does the believe in companies abilities to meet their set targets.

This seminar featured:

  • 1) Four and a half planets for Christmas? - Tim C. McAloone, Professor and Section Head at DTU Section of Design for Sustainability
  • 2) Carbon Dioxide Removal, by Thomas J. Howard, Professor at the DTU Centre for Entrepreneurship
